Supply chain consultant in Massachusetts for small and mid-size manufacturers
Statadventure is based in Burlington, Massachusetts. We help manufacturers across the state and New England with inventory, sourcing, operations and practical AI. Contact us first, scope agreed before we start.
Who it’s for
We work with Massachusetts manufacturers that want hands-on help from someone close enough to visit, without the overhead of a large firm.
- Precision machining, metal fabrication and contract manufacturers along Route 128 and I-495.
- Medical device, electronics and instrument makers with complex purchased parts.
- Food, beverage and consumer product plants with seasonal demand.
- Distributors and growing businesses with their own warehouse.
- Companies elsewhere in New England that prefer a consultant within driving distance.
What local manufacturers ask us about
The questions vary by plant, but a few come up again and again in conversations with New England manufacturers:
- Long and uncertain lead times on imported components.
- Tariff changes hitting the cost of parts bought from overseas suppliers.
- Inventory that has grown faster than sales.
- Planning that still runs in spreadsheets alongside the ERP.
- Pressure from leadership to “do something with AI” without a clear first step.
What the engagement includes
Every engagement is scoped to one or two clear problems. The most common starting points for Massachusetts clients are:
- An inventory review: classification, safety stock and reorder points for the items that matter.
- A purchased-parts and supplier risk review, including tariff exposure.
- MRP or ERP planning set-up, so the system’s suggestions are trusted.
- A practical AI assessment: one use case, with the data checked first.
- Ongoing part-time supply chain leadership when there is no manager in the seat.
- Free calculators and templates your team can keep using.

Local when it helps, remote when it does not
Most of the analysis happens remotely from ERP exports, so location rarely limits the work. Being based in Burlington means on-site visits in the Boston area can be arranged when they help, such as walking the stockroom, running a planning workshop or training buyers in person.
We also serve manufacturers across the United States. If you are outside New England, the process is the same; we simply rely more on video calls. See the industries and operations we support and how we work.
Working with a consultant nearby also makes the handover easier. When a new planner joins or a rule needs revisiting, a short follow-up visit or call can be arranged without a long lead time. The aim is that your team runs the new routines confidently, with outside help available but rarely needed.
What working with us looks like
Most Massachusetts clients come to us with one pressing problem, such as a stockroom full of the wrong parts, a supplier that keeps missing dates or an ERP whose planning suggestions nobody follows. We start there rather than with a broad assessment, so you see useful output early.
The work is done with your team, not handed to them at the end. Buyers and planners take part in the analysis, test the new rules on real items and learn how to keep them current. When the engagement ends, the spreadsheets, settings and routines stay with you.
Many New England manufacturers combine domestic machining and fabrication with imported components, which means tariff and freight changes can move costs quickly. Our free landed cost calculator and tariff cost calculator are a quick way to see your exposure before a call.
If AI is on your agenda, we can help you pick one practical first use case and check whether your data supports it, without committing to a large software purchase.
What to include when you contact us
A short list of facts helps us understand your plant before we suggest anything. Bring what you have; rough numbers are fine.
- What you make, roughly how many active parts you buy and how many suppliers you use.
- The one problem you would fix first if you could.
- Which ERP or planning tools you use today.
- Whether an on-site visit would help, and which day of the week suits the plant.
